The Future Belongs to Them

Getting ready for Roza

There is little that excites the Indian as much as a film shoot.  Or even just a camera.  Or a strange woman wandering amidst the goats and buffaloes wielding a smartphone.  Suddenly lads become heroes.  So I played along.  What can you tell me about Chanderi, I asked.  Notice the confidence, notice the smiles.

This jostling exuberant group of children and youth are the future of Chanderi weaving? They seem quite optimistic about it, which for a textile lover, is wonderful.

He says that he is a weaver.
